At Alder Hey Children’s Hospital we know a lot about our
patients. We know that a visit to hospital can be a difficult
experience. We know that you may be anxious about the
environment or nervous about your treatment.
We know you will have lots of questions about everything and
that these questions won’t stop as soon as you leave the
hospital. It’s this insight into our patients that has inspired
Alder Hey to become the
UK’s first cognitive hospital.
Our vision is to develop a Living Hospital that will help us to
improve the services we deliver, raise quality and improve
What is AskOli?
AskOli is the first step in our cognitive vision - an artificial
intelligence ChatBot that can answer common questions you have
about your visit or your condition. Oli already knows a bit
about navigating around Alder Hey, and coming in for a day case
What should I ask?
Questions should be about your visit to the hospital. They can
include general questions such as queries about directions or a
procedure and should not be specific to a particular user.
Please bear in mind that Oli can’t answer questions about every
topic yet. If your question has not been answered, please do
provide feedback on the link below the response and ask a member
of staff when you see them. Oli’s knowledge will grow as we
train him further so with your help he’ll get even smarter. You
can always ask Oli “what do you know?”
Please do not enter any personal identifying information
such as names and (email) addresses when asking questions.
